The Citrus Springs Advisory Council

Published June 8, 2024 Florida, by George M. Micro

The Citrus Springs Advisory Council is the governing council in Citrus Springs, Florida. Unlike the Citrus County Commissioners, they are not elected. They are appointed by the commissioners.

The council is totally voluntary, and is not payed. For example, Councilman David Savage is on the council, but also work at Citrus Springs Middle School.

The Council has also overseen much drama. For example, A fight happened at a council meeting over deed restrictions.

Members of Citrus Springs want the Council to hold elections so they can elect younger people. Sadly, it doesn’t look like that’ll happen soon.
